Uncle: Five reasons to watch Mammootty - Joy Mathew movie

All eyes are on Mammootty's movie Uncle directed by Gireesh Damodar which is releasing tomorrow. The film is written by award-winning filmmaker-actor Joy Mathew and the visuals and dialogues in its teasers have already triggered curiosity among the viewers. Mammootty in a mysterious role: As per rumour mills and reports, Mammootty plays a ladies'man in the film and he is on a road trip with his friends daughter. Only the film could reveal if he is a Casanova. The actor also looks extremely fabulous in perfect fit shirts and jeans.

Script by Joy Mathew after Shutter: Actor-filmmaker Joy Mathew has scripted the film after the critically acclaimed movie Shutter. The film which is a moral suspense thriller had gained rave reviews from critics and movie buffs. Joy Mathew had revealed initially that Uncle was originally a small subject but it developed over time. With Mammootty coming on board, it became a full-fledged project.

Contemporary family drama: As per the makers, the film's story revolves around a family. The social and political milieu of Kerala is of much importance in the movie and it's about an unusual situation a family is made to face.

The intriguing teasers: The teasers of the film suggests that a young girl (played by Karthika Muraleedharan) is on a trip with her father’s friend, whom she calls uncle (Mammootty). As per the visuals while the girl feels very safe and comfortable when she is around her uncle, her family and neighbours seem to be anxious about her trip with a middle-aged man. Just when we think that the film is against moral policing, the last visual of the teaser, where Mammootty looks suspicious, throws some ambiguity.
