The debutant director Ratheesh Reghunandan’s thriller ‘Udal’ had already created a huge buzz on social media when it was revealed in the official teaser that the versatile Mollywood actor Indrans will be playing a lead character with antagonist traits in him. The teaser also resembled the Hollywood thriller ‘Don't’ Breath’ (In a good way) and has indeed raised the expectations among the audience. According to Twitterati, ‘Udal’ offers a great cinematic experience and the makers have indeed succeeded at creating a claustrophobic feel among the audience with its perfect rendering of violent sequences. The snow-ball kind of story treatment has indeed helped the film in making the audience at the edge-of-the seats.

Netizens also laud the stunning performances of the leads Indrans, Durga Krishna, and Dhyan Sreenivasan. One among the netizens said that the makers tried to bring in a Hollywood kind of making and they have indeed achieved it to a level. Netizens also give a nod to the cinematography and the background score of ‘Udal’ which has indeed created an Eerie feeling.
On the other hand, The early reactions point out some flaws in the film as some of the viewers didn’t get fully satisfied with the average climax and weak plot of the film. Even though they are pointing out these flaws, the technically rich quality and the magnificent performances are said to have indeed covered up these negative aspects of ‘Udal’.

William Francis is roped in as the music composer of ‘Udal’ and Nishad Yusuf handled the editing section of the film. Makers have already planned the film to be remade in Hindi which will be helmed by Ratheesh Reghunandan himself.
