In an interview with Club FM, Midhun Manuel Thomas revealed that 'Turbo' would be an action comedy, clarifying that it holds no relation to 'Turbo Peter'.

Explaining the title's origin, Midhun Manuel Thomas shared that initially, the movie's title lacked the desired impact.
Prompted by the makers to enhance its punch, he suggested an old story he'd written titled 'Turbo Peter'. Enthralled by the new title, the team adopted 'Turbo' as the story's title.
Highlighting Mammootty's involvement, Midhun Manuel Thomas expressed the superstar's complete satisfaction with both his character and the film's plot. Mammootty readily approved the project, indicating his enthusiasm for the venture. Moreover, the writer emphasized that the character's appearance differs significantly from Mammootty's recent photos, sporting short hair and a cap, teasing a distinctive look for the film.
Directed by Vysakh, 'Turbo' marks Mammootty's collaboration once again with the director after their successful ventures ‘Pokkiri Raja' and 'Madhura Raja'.
Initial speculations suggesting 'Turbo' as a sequel to Mammootty's 1990 action comedy 'Kottayam Kunjachan', possibly titled 'Adi Pidi Jose', were dispelled by the actor himself in a prior interview with Asianet News. Denying any connection between 'Adi Pidi Jose' and the film, Mammootty clarified that neither the title nor the storyline bear any resemblance to his iconic character from 'Kottayam Kunjachan'.
