'Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups' makers have shared the first look poster of
Rukmini Vasanth. The poster was released on this day (Tuesday) and introduced her character named Mellisa. Rukmini’s look is simple but strong and it hints at a character with depth. Sharing the poster, the director - actor Geethu Mohandas praised the 'Kantara' star Rukmini Vasanth.
Geethu Mohandas on working with Rukmini
Director Geethu Mohandas shared a note on Instagram after the poster was shared. She spoke about what she admires most about Rukmini as an actor. Geethu wrote, "What I admire most about Rukmini is her intelligence as an actor. She doesn’t just perform, she processes. She asks questions not out of doubt but out of curiosity." She also shared how this pushes her as a director and said it makes her think deeper and even question her own choices. Geethu added, "Watching her work reminds me that intelligence on screen often lies in what is left unsaid."

A quiet process behind the scenes
Geethu also spoke about Rukmini’s personal way of working. She wrote, "Between shots, I often see her quietly writing in her journal, capturing thoughts, small anecdotes from the set." She felt those moments showed a lot about Rukmini as an artist.
She added, "She is constantly building her own inner world." Geethu called her approach thoughtful and layered. She even shared a very honest thought and wrote, "I honestly wish I could steal those pages and read through them, just to understand the mind behind such a layered performance." She ended the note by saying, "I love you @rukmini_vasanth."

Rukmini Vasanth also shared her emotions in a gratitude note on her social media handle. She spoke about how special the experience was for her. Rukmini wrote, "Words usually fall short when an experience is as profound as this one." She said that working with Geethu pushed her beyond what she thought she could do. Rukmini wrote, "I found an artist, a collaborator who pushed me to find more than I thought myself capable of." She also added, "I found someone who looked out for me, and for the entirety of my art and my ability." She ended by saying, "Thank you for everything Geetu. I love you."
