Tovino to play a forensic specialist in Sujith Vaassudev’s film

Cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Sujith Vaassudev seems to be experimenting with different genres for his directorials. After the family drama James and Alice and slice-of-life film Autorsha, Sujith will next be helming an investigative thriller titled

“From the name itself, the genre must be obvious. But that’s not all, we will also be delving into a sub-genre that has been hitherto untouched in crime thrillers. I don’t want to reveal that now because the shoot of the film will only begin in October,” says Sujith.

The movie’s story, screenplay and dialogues are by Akhil Paul and Anas Khan. Akhil, Tovino and Sujith had earlier collaborated in 7th Day. “Tovino’s character works in the forensic department,” says Sujith.

On how different his upcoming film is from Autorsha, the filmmaker says, “For Autorsha, I had to work hard in the technical side of the film but I didn’t have to take a lot of effort for the research of the script. But ever since Akhil Paul came up with the thread for Forensic, we have been collecting information on similar cases that has happened over the years. We have analysed how the doctors and forensic department were involved in these cases and how the police looked at the murders. We have also been meeting people to understand these aspects better.”

The film will be extensively shot in Kerala with only a few portions outside the State. “We are also on the hunt for specific locations that would match the plot requirements,” concludes Sujith.
