Tovino Thomas on ‘Adrishya Jalakangal’: Oftentimes war is the consequence of corrupt systems and a lust for power

Tovino Thomas is headlining ‘Adrishya Jalakangal’ an upcoming film, along with Nimisha Sajayan. The film is helmed by award-winning director Dr. Biju Kumar Damodaran and is touted to be an anti-war drama. The film went on floors today (Aug 18) and Tovino Thomas has shared his excitement about the commencement of the film. The actor shared that he is happy to be a part of ‘Adrishya Jalakangal’ for its team and theme. The young star also added that the film has a ‘universal subject relatable to the current scenario’. He further stated that the film speaks about how war can lead to dire consequences for people that had no part to play in it to start with. “Oftentimes war is the consequence of corrupt systems and a lust for power, amidst such nuisance innocent citizens get caught in the crossfire and that is a sad reality for many,” Tovino Thomas said.


Directed by Dr. Biju Kumar Damodaran, ‘Adrishya Jalakangal’ is said to be an unabashed depiction of what war and its consequences truly look like. “Adrishya Jalakangal is an attempt to look at the social menace of war from a common man’s point of view and be a strong artistic signature against war,” the director said.

On the technical front, ‘Adrishya Jalakangal’ has Yedhu Radhakrishnan as the cinematographer. Davis Manuel is both the editor and associate director of the film. Dileep Daz is in charge of the production design. The sound mixing is done by Pramod Thomas and the sound design is done by Pramod Thomas, Ajayan Adat, and, Subramanyam K Vaidyalingam.
