Most actors would play safe and try and dominate the industry they are in. However, the new breed of stars in Mollywood are quite different, and the latest is
Tovino Thomas, who made his Tamil debut with
Abhiyum Anuvum
and has also been roped in several big movies in Kollywood with names such as Dhanush and Gautham Vasudev Menon attached.
In a recent interview, the actor though makes it clear that despite taking up Tamil films, he will always remain available to Mollywood films. “Hollywood is my aim, so I will take effort to reach there. However, no matter which industry I go to I will always be there in Malayalam,” he says.
Tovino stressed that he wants to be the Malayali presence in other film industries. “Why would I say no to good projects in other languages?”
Recently the actor’s performance in Mollywood film
Mayaanadhi
was lauded, and he was also one of the favourites heading up to the Kerala State Film Awards. Tovino has also finished shooting for
Maradona
and Theevandi, and is currently busy with Madhupal’s Oru Kuprasidha Payyan.
Meanwhile, he is also set to join Dhanush’s next film
Maari 2
as its antagonist.
