The two most-anticipated period flicks Tipuvum Unniarchayum and Randamoozham that are set to come out of filmmaker Gokulam Gopalans stable are currently delayed. Talking about the status of these projects, its executive producer Gokulam Praveen says,
Tipuvum Unniarchayum has been stalled due to feasibility reasons in making it in Malayalam, while
Randamoozham is being pushed because the script is yet to be ready.
While the same producers were responsible for the mega-budget period flick
Pazhassiraja, it seems that Mollywood doesnt really have the market for such huge films.
Period flicks mean huge budgets and ultimately you have to look at the viability of such projects in Malayalam. If its made in Tamil, the market is huge and the dubbed versions will run with same steam as the original in other states as well. However, its not the same in Malayalam, he says.
Interestingly,
Mohanlal was roped in to play Bheema in
Randamoozham.
