The story behind Balu’s Afro hair

The afro hair that actor Balu sported in Jean Paul Lal’s Honey Bee was an instant hit, with many youngsters even trying to imitate the style! However, some of them were disappointed to learn that Balu wore a wig for his character, Ambro. “My pages on social networking sites were flooded with comments and suggestions from my fans asking me to not cut my hair,” says Balu, who is also director Jean Paul Lal’s cousin.
Recalling the incident that led him to wear the wig, Balu says, “The wig was actually meant for Baburaj. During the photoshoot, the make-up man tried the wig on me for fun. And lo, everybody liked it! Since people would easily make out if Baburaj wore a wig, the team decided that I wear it. Moreover, the wig complemented my beard too! That’s the story behind my trending afro hair.”
