'Thankamani's box office struggle continues: Dileep starrer collects only Rs 14 lakhs on day 5

The box office fate of the recently released Dileep starrer crime thriller, 'Thankamani,' is taking a downturn as it managed to collect a mere Rs 14 lakhs on its fifth day. Despite a promising start that saw the film cross the Rs 1 crore mark within the initial four days, the latest updates reveal a significant dip in its performance.

According to reports from the Sacnilk website, 'Thankamani' had an overall Malayalam occupancy of 9.76% on Monday, March 11, 2024. The specific occupancy breakdown for Day 5 showcased a decline, with morning shows recording 7.20%, afternoon shows at 6.86%, evening shows at 9.92%, and night shows peaking at 15.07%.

Directed by Ratheesh Reghunandan, 'Thankamani' presents a crime thriller narrative based on a real incident that transpired on October 21, 1986, in the village of Thankamani. The film explores the aftermath of a dispute over a bus service, resulting in a police baton charge and gunfire.

Despite its intriguing premise, 'Thankamani' has received mixed reviews from both critics and audiences. The film, featuring musical score by William Francis and cinematography by Manoj Pillai, was theatrically released on March 7, 2024.
