Later, we had heard that the film directed by Rajesh Mohanan will Anu Sithara playing the lead instead of Swathy. Now we got to know that Swathy is playing the lead role in the film as decided. Confirming the news, actor-producer Vijay Babu reveals that they had actually searched for other actors to replace Swathy as the actress was hospitalised. "She fell ill, and our dates couldn't wait. However, I think, the role was meant for her as our schedules got postponed due to the floods and Jayasurya's injury. Now, she is completely cured and is here all pretty and healthy," he says adding that none can refuse the role as it is highly interesting.



Ratheesh Vega, the script writer and composer of the movie had earlier told us that Swathy plays a pakka Thrissurkkari in the film who is very strong and independent. "Her character is very integral for the film,” he added. In Thrissur Pooram, Jayasurya and Swathy will be playing husband and wife.
