Swathi Reddy in Jayasurya's Thrissur Pooram

She makes a comeback to Mollywood after 2015
In the climax sequence of Aadu, Jayasurya’s Shaji Pappan finds his soulmate in Pinky, who was played by Swathi Reddy. While the audience didn’t get to see how their tale would pan out, they would get another opportunity to see the two actors together in the upcoming movie Thrissur Pooram. The duo plays husband and wife in the film directed by Rajesh Mohanan that has gone on floors in Kochi on Monday.

Thrissur Pooram, which is scripted by composer Ratheesh Vega, will also mark the Mollywood comeback of Swathi Reddy, who was previously seen in Lijo Jose Pellisserry’s 2015 release, Double Barrel.

Talking about her role, Ratheesh Vega, who is also composing for the film, says, “She plays a pakka Thrissurkkari, who is very strong and independent. Her character is very integral to the film.”

Jayasurya, meanwhile, will be essaying a “mass” action hero named Round Jayan. “His is a larger-than-life character,” Ratheesh explains. “The movie has been structured similar to the various phases of the annual temple festival such as kodiyettam, ilanjitharamelam, vedikettu and so on.”

Apart from Swathi and Jayasurya, the film will also have Sabumon, Sreejith Ravi, Vijay Babu, Gayathri Arun and Mallika Sukumaran. “It will also introduce many fresh faces to Malayalam cinema and they will all have good roles in the film,” he says.
