Suresh Gopi’s Kaaval shoot postponed due to rising Covid-19 cases in Kerala

Suresh Gopi was set to resume the shoot of Nithin Renji Panicker’s film

in October but the rising Covid-19 cases in Kerala has disrupted the plans again. The team has reportedly postponed the shoot date.

The team was set to start shooting again on October 7 in Palakkad. According to reports, close to two weeks of shoot remain for the film, which had to halt its production in March when the lockdown was announced. Most of the portions left are outdoor sequences. The new date for filming is yet to be decided.

The film has Suresh Gopi playing the character named Thampan and will be seen in two phases of the character’s life. Renji Panicker also stars in the film in a pivotal role. The movie, which is touted to be an action-thriller, also has

David, Padmaraj Ratheesh, Binu Pappu, IM Vijayan and Alencier in supporting roles. Kaaval’s technical crew includes cinematographer Nikhil S Praveen, music director Ranjin Raj and editor Nikhil S Praveen.

Meanwhile, during the lockdown Suresh Gopi had also signed three more ventures – the action-thriller to be directed by Mathews Thomas Plammoottil, which will be the superstar’s 250th film, a drama-thriller helmed by Jeem Boom Bhaa director Rahul Ramachandran and Major Ravi’s upcoming movie that also has Asha Sharath in the lead.

While Mathews SG250 has been plagued in copyright controversy after the makers of Prithviraj’s Kaduva had alleged the script is plagiarized from their work, the producer of SG250 recently put up a post saying that the title of the movie will be revealed soon.
