Sunny Wayne, who is on a high with the success of his recent film 'Annmariya Kalippilannu', will next be seen as a die-hard fan of Ilayathalapathy Vijay in his next film titled Pokkiri Simon, 'Oru Kadutha Aaraadhakan'.
Yesterday the actor made a dramatic announcement of his role at the re-release of Vijay's Tamil super hit film Pokkiri at a prominent theatre in Trivandrum.
'My character Pokkiri Simon is a hard-core Vijay fan and the film reflects the life of a fan. I have been a huge Vijay fan since watching his Thulladha Manamum Thullum. There will also be some good dance numbers in the film (laughs),' Sunny told us. The announcement was made by Sunny after watching the film along with Vijay fans and the director of his upcoming film Jijo Antony and its scriptwriter K Ampady.
'The ambience inside the theatre was electrifying. I thought it was the right moment to announce my new film. I was really excited to meet Vijay's fans and received such an overwhelming welcome.' Sunny added.
The team chose this occasion to announce the project as it was the 24th anniversary of Vijay's film career, says its scriptwriter Ampady. Pokkiri had a re-release only in this theatre in Kerala and we thought it apt to introduce Pokkiri Simon to the audience. The film will be a colourful entertainer, he added.
The film is expected to go on floors by end of February. The movie will also have real-life fans of Vijay acting in the movie.
