Lijin Jose, whose debut 'Friday' created waves for its freshness in theme and approach, is set to start work on his next, titled 'Monkeys'. 'Sunny Wayne, Manu and Sidharth Bharathan will play equally important lead roles in the film, which will be a thriller with a lot of fun elements. We haven't yet decided on the female lead,' says the director. Najeem Koya, scriptwriter of
Friday and close friend and associate of Lijin, will be scripting
Monkeys as well.
'Gopi Sundar will be handling the music. Of course, we don't want to reveal much about the story at this point. But it will be about these three guys who share a love hate relationship. They are forced to forget about their differences when they get together to solve a larger issue.'
And no, Lijin has no worries about the high expectations on him after the success of
Friday. 'I don't think on those lines at all. This is an entirely new theme and story. I just try to make films which I myself would like to watch,' he says.
