, the 2018 drama/thriller Malayalam film starring Joju George is getting its
Bollywood
remake and according to reports,
Sunny Deol will reprise the role of Joju as a retired quick-witted police officer. The original Malayalam film was directed by M.Padmakumar and he will be donning the director’s cap in the Bollywood remake too. Sunny Deol, who has recently surprised the fans with the announcement of a sequel to his 2001 romantic action film ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’, is currently wrapping up the shoot for R Balki’s psychological thriller film ‘Chup’.
The original Malayalam film ‘Joseph’ was well appreciated both by critics and the audience and was specially mentioned in National awards along with more than a 100 day run in theatres. The slow-paced investigative story told the lives of four retired police officers with the titular character ‘Joseph’ as the lead. Joju’s acting got special recognition from the audience as he gave full justice to the character ‘Joseph’, without losing any of the details given to the character by the scriptwriter
Shahi Kabir.
Padmakumar also shined in his direction department as he carefully crafted the investigative elements in the story along with giving a huge emotional impact to the audience. Well placed beautiful songs in the film by Ranjin Raj and Anil Johnson was also another positive aspect of the movie coupled with the alluring cinematography done by Manesh Madhavan.
Coming to the Bollywood remake of ‘Joseph’, Sunny Deol is all excited to take up the lead of the remake as he was already a fan of the film and wants to see the movie recreated without losing any of the emotional core of the original film ‘Joseph’. Apart from ‘Joseph’, he also has a couple of movies lined up, such as his upcoming film ‘Chup’, Apne 2, and R Balki’s emotional family drama in which actresses

will pair alongside him.
