'Sufiyum Sujatayum' to 'Kaatru Veliyidai': Must-watch Aditi Rao Hydari films to stream right now

Aditi Rao Hydari turns a year older today (October 28, 2025). The actress has indeed carved a niche across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam cinema. To celebrate her special day, here’s a look back at five of her most unforgettable performances.

2/5

'Padmaavat' (2018)

In Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s visual masterpiece, Aditi Rao Hydari shines as Mehrunissa who is Alauddin Khilji’s compassionate yet heartbroken queen. Aditi brings stillness and sorrow to the chaos with her subtle mannerisms that touch the audiences hearts. ETimes review for the movie reads, "Aditi Rao Hydari stands her ground as the naive Mehrunissa who gets a rude awakening when she discovers her husband Alauddin’s true nature. Jim Sarbh is somewhat misplaced as the Sultan’s slave-general, unable to generate enough menace to overshadow his master’s own. Nonetheless, the ensemble moves well in tune with Bhansali’s vision of this larger-than-life retelling."

3/5

'Kaatru Veliyidai' (2017)

Mani Ratnam’s Tamil romantic drama casts Aditi as Leela Abraham who is a doctor whose love story unfolds amidst emotional turbulence. Her chemistry with Karthi received much love from the audiences. Every frame feels like a painting, and Aditi is its living soul. The movie is available on Amazon Prime.

4/5

Psycho (2020)

Now let's step into the thriller genre. In this dark Tamil psychological thriller directed by Mysskin, Aditi delivers one of her most intense performances as Kamala Das who is a radio jockey trapped in a serial killer’s web. 'Psycho' stands as a supreme example on how Aditi brilliantly showcases the emotion of fear to the audiences. Her suble mannerisms wins here too. The movie is available on Netflix.

5/5

'Sufiyum Sujatayum' (2020)

In this Malayalam romantic film, Aditi mesmerizes as Sujata who is a deaf-mute Sufi dancer. In this musical romance directed by Naranipuzha Shanavas, Aditi's expressive eyes and graceful movements tell a story words cannot. The movie also features Dev Mohan, Jayasurya, Shaan Shahid, Siddique and Mammukoya in pivotal roles. The movie can be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
