Sudev Nair to play the villain in MG Srinivas' Old Monk
Kerala State Award winner Sudev Nair has forayed into Kannada this year with pivotal roles in two movies - Jaishankar Pandit's 21 Hours and MG Srinivas' Old Monk.
Talking about his role in Old Monk, the actor tells us, "The movie has M G Srinivas as director, scriptwriter and actor. I play the main villain in the movie, which is a commercial entertainer."
Meanwhile, 21 Hours also has two more Mollywood actors as part of its cast - Rahul Madhav and Durga Krishna.

Its director Jaishankar tells us, “Durga plays the female protagonist who goes missing in the movie while Sudev plays her husband and Rahul Madhav, her friend. They portray Malayalis who have lived in Bengaluru and so they speak Kannada. However, in scenes with the family, they speak Malayalam.”
In Mollywood, Sudev is part of a few exciting films including Mammootty's One, Nivin Pauly's Thuramukham and Asif Ali's Kothu.
He is most excited about his character in Thuramukham. On the role, Sudev says, "I am playing one of the main characters. It is a period film and my character goes through a lot of physical changes in the story. That was one of the exciting aspects about the role because I always wanted to do a film where I could jump head on. It would be great if I could reach a level where I am doing just one movie a year by putting all my resources in it. Two months before the shoot started, Rajeev Ravi called me and told me to take complete freedom – in terms of costume, make-up and whatever I needed – to help bring the character to life. That one call inspired me so much."
