Actress Sruthi Lakshmi will be seen playing a role she has never done before — a mystic woman — in the upcoming movie Amelia Alive. Its director Sajan Kurian tells us that Sruthi plays Amelia, a mysterious character. “In the story, she is found dead and there begins the trail of events. In fact, there are a lot of surprise elements in store for the audience,” he says.
However, the director is tight-lipped about the other details and says all the characters will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar.
“The psychological fantasy thriller is set in the backdrop of a small village in 870 AD, so all the actors will sport a different look. Since it is a period film, we had to do a lot of research to bring in that era on screen,” adds Sajan.
Shine Tom Chacko plays the lead in the film.
The sound mixing is done by Oscar Award winner Resul Pookutty. The shoot of the movie will be canned in Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Sruthi has also signed up for Manoj Paloden’s
Driver on Duty, which will see her playing a cop, and in Salim Ahmed’s
Pathemari, she plays Mammootty’s niece.
