Sreenath Bhasi’s next film titled ‘Pongala’ - See title poster

Sreenath Bhasi to star in an upcoming film titled ‘Pongala’. The title poster was launched on Thursday, July 18, by Fahadh Faasil via his social media handle.

The film’s tagline reads, "Liberation of a coast." Directed by AB Binil, ‘Pongala’ will also feature Baburaj, Bibin George, Harish Uthaman, Alencier, and Roshan Basheer in crucial roles.

‘Pongala’ is helmed by AB Binil, who has previously directed the 2022 release ‘Vamanan’, starring Indrans.

On the technical side, Tharun Bhaskaran has roped in as the director of photography. Kapil Krishna is the editor. Alex Paul has composed the music for the film.

On the other hand, Sreenath Bhasi will be next seen in ‘Udumbanchola Vision’. His last outing was ‘Manjummel Boys’. The film has emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters in Malayalam cinema in 2024.

ETimes rated the film 4 out of 5 and wrote, “Manjummel Boys isn't your average friendship flick packed like a survival film. If you are looking for a crisp survival film, this is it. It's an absolute marvel of visuals, absolutely good writing, characterization, editing, acting, and all the thrills. From successfully establishing the setting, which is almost decades ago, to the authenticity with which the characters and their reactions to the situations are portrayed and the way the story flows seamlessly, writer and director Chidambaram has done a phenomenal job. There is a repeat watch value to this film, and it is a great addition to the survival film genre in the Malayalam industry.”
