In terms of Kerala box office collections, ‘Sookshmadarshini’ has raked in Rs 25.2 crores from the state within 18 days, and on day 18, the movie has minted approximately Rs 25 lakhs from KBO.
Overall ‘Sookshmadarshini’ shows a strong hold at the box office even after the release of Allu Arjun’s most awaited action flick ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ directed by Sukumar.
‘Sookshmadarshini’ is directed by MC Jithin and the storytelling has an Alfred Hitchcock style to it, which is receiving good responses from the audiences.
ETimes rated the film with a solid 4 out of 5 and our review reads, “The film keeps us guessing throughout the first half about what the trio might be up to. When this continues into the second half, this begins to lag a bit, but just as the excitement begins to wane, the story is infused with a fresh twist which continues to a satisfying climax. Basil and Nazriya are inspired choices for their respective roles because we never know quite what to expect. Basil is excellent as Manuel, though sometimes, there is a comedic baggage that he cannot shake off, but that is more a problem of audience perception because the actor wisely doesn’t go for slapstick, even though he could have sometimes.”
Basil Joseph's previous film was ‘Nunakkuzhi’ which turned out to be a superhit.
