Meanwhile, speaking exclusively to ETimes, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Sayanora Philip stressed the need for gender equality.
“We live in a society filled with patriarchal norms. There are people who continue to believe that women are meant to do the household chores, and men have to earn. Let’s crush gender-based roles. Be it cooking, cleaning, earning, or taking care of kids, let us try to be equally responsible. It’s unfortunate to see women losing their decision-making power, after tying the knot. We all are law-abiding citizens and so let us make sure that there are equal rights and opportunities. Gender equality starts at home. Together, let’s build a world where gender equality is the foundation,” Sayanora said.
