The much-anticipated big-budget pan-Indian film ‘Kathiravan’, based on the life of social reformer Mahatma Ayyankali, is set to commence shooting soon. The film will see action hero Siju Wilson in the lead role, portraying the iconic leader.

Produced under the banner of Thara Productions by Jagathambi Krishna, ‘Kathiravan’ marks the production house’s first venture and promises to be an action-packed spectacle. This will be one of the first big-budget films featuring an action hero in the lead role.

The film is directed and cinematographed by Arun Raj, while the story, screenplay, and dialogues are penned by Pradeep K Thamaramkulam. Arun Raj, who made history as the first Indian and Malayali to win the American Primus Global Achievement Award for Best Cinematographer at the International Film Festival (Memory of Murder), helms this project as his second directorial. His debut film was Edwin’s Naam, and he was also the cinematographer for Welcome to Pandimala.
The music for’ Kathiravan’ is composed by Bijibal, with lyrics penned by Harinarayanan and Sathyan Komeri. The film's production team includes Vinod Paravoor as the production controller, Joseph Nellickal as the art director, Ronex Xavier handling makeup, and Arun Manohar designing the costumes. Vinayan serves as the chief associate director, while Manju Gopinath is the film's PR officer. Stills are captured by Bijith Dharmajan.
The film is expected to be a grand cinematic experience, shedding light on the life and contributions of Mahatma Ayyankali.
