SIIMA 2023: Darshana Rajendran, Keerthy Suresh, Navya Nair, and Kalyani Priyadarshan among others compete for the Best Actress award

The highly anticipated South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) is scheduled to take place in Dubai on September 15th and 16th. SIIMA, one of the most prestigious award ceremonies, is dedicated to celebrating and commending outstanding films and talents within the South Indian film industry. And guess who all are in the race for the best actress in a leading role? Well, the nomination list is quite diverse this year, with actors from almost all generations!

Darshana Rajendran is on the nomination list for her role in the film ‘Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey’, which spoke about domestic abuse wrapped in a light-hearted satire. Darshana played the role of Jayabharathi aka Jaya, a newly-wed woman from a middle-class family in Kerala. Veteran actress Revathy too is in the race for her film ‘Bhoothakaalam’. It is worth mentioning that Revathy had also bagged her first Kerala State film award for her performance in the film.

Keerthy Suresh for her performance in the film ‘Vaashi’, Kalyani Priyadarshan for ‘Bro Daddy’, Anaswara Rajan for ‘Super Sharanya’, and Navya Nair for ‘Vaashi’ are also on the nomination list.

The race is going to be tougher than usual, and let’s wait to watch who takes the award home!
