Titled as "When the director gets directed," the photograph shows the influence of actor KPAC Lalitha in film-maker Bharathan's life and also shows a beautiful moment of their personal life, where films always matter.

Bharathan's role in shaping Malayalam cinema was something rare and truly unique. When Malayalam cinema was strictly lead into two paths, where one was the

parallel cinema

and other the commercial one, Bharathan chose to make something apart from that. His cinemas were artistic at its soul, and also had the ability to penetrate into the hearts of the audience, irrespective of what their taste for cinemas was. The veteran film-maker has also given birth to some powerful women characters and portrayed them in a new light which many film-makers lacked. He never had an inhibition to showcase women like Rathi or Vaisali on-screen.

With memorable movies like 'Marmaram', 'Ormakkayi', 'Kattathe Kilikkoodu', '

Sandhya Mayangum Neram

', 'Venkalam', 'Vaishali Paalangal', 'Churam', 'Ithiri Poove Chuvanna Poove', 'Rathinirvedam', 'Thevar Makan', to his credit, Bharathan's demise is still an irreplaceable loss for the Malayalam film industry.
