Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan, who was suffering from cancer due to a neuroendocrine tumour, passed away today at a hospital in Mumbai. The 53-year-old had been recently admitted to the hospital for colon infection. The Bollywood actor is also globally acclaimed for his performances in movies like 'Slumdog Millionaire', 'The Amazing Spider-Man', 'Life of Pi' and 'Jurassic World'.

Now, Mollywood actress Shwetha Menon, who has worked with Irrfan Khan in the movies ‘Dhund’ and ‘Maqbool’ has reacted to the actor’s unfortunate demise. “Deeply saddened by the loss of a brilliant actor and a good friend, Irrfan bhai,” Shwetha wrote on her social media handle. She also added that Irrfan is the epitome of professionalism.
Taking to her social media handle, Shwetha Menon wrote, “Deeply saddened by the loss of a brilliant actor and a good friend, Irrfan bhai. I remember working with him in Dhund: The Fog and then, Maqbool. A humble man with high level of professionalism, he was bound to touch great heights in career - a huge personal loss to all those who knew him. Condolences to the family.”

Model and actress Shwetha Menon who predominantly works in Malayalam has also starred in many Hindi films. Shwetha has essayed a supporting role in 'Dhund: The Fog' and 'Maqbool', which had Irrfan Khan in the lead role.
Meanwhile, tributes are pouring in for the magnificent actor. Mollywood actors including Mohanlal, Dulquer Salmaan, Suresh Gopi, and many others have mourned the loss of the acting stalwart. As per sources, the last rites for the actor were carried out at a versova kabrastan in Mumbai.
