Trust Shweta Menon to be game for experiments! After romancing Lal on the screen for 'Salt 'N Pepper', she will now be seen playing his mother in Madhupal's 'Ozhimuri'. 'The film revolves around the lives of five people. It's about relationships and separation,' says director Madhupal. As for Shweta, she jokes, 'After our onscreen romance, I felt so motherly towards Lal. I have noticed that when a woman is totally in love, her maternal instincts take prominence automatically,' adding, 'I'm happy to be doing this role.
With this, I will upgrade myself to another level. Though, next time around, I hope I get to play Lal's daughter!'
A story told against the backdrop of Travancore, the Ozhimuri has women in powerful roles. Madhupal points out that he could not have found a better actress than Shweta to portray this role. 'She has the right body language and is also the best choice when you are looking for someone who can portray any character with so much conviction. She will be seen as a young girl, a middle-aged woman, as well as someone who is old 'because the story captures the person's entire life,' explains the director.
The cast also includes Asif Ali, Bhavana and Mallika.
