Shweta Menon supports charity fashion

Shweta Menon is a supported of charity fashion. By the term, she means someone who buys clothes from a charity. The actress uploaded a few pictures of herself in a dashing black sari, along with a brief on why one should opt for charity fashion.

"As an issue close to my heart, I am glad that Fast Fashion continues to be in the news; the awareness about fashion trends that travel so rapidly from catwalk to consumer to (trashcan is rising thanks to shows like `War on Waste’ (ABC). Australia too is guilty, being the world's second largest consumers of textiles (buying 27 kilograms of new clothing and other textiles on average each year) as well as the second largest dumper of old clothes. I feel you can show some magnanimity picking up a `charity fashion’ – a term I would use for using a cloth from a charity – in which way, you can contribute to the charity as well as feel happy that you have not added to the landfill or waste. Be proud to wear the label – `I support charity fashion, do you?" she wrote.
