Shane Nigam says he was misinterpreted as his remarks against Unni Mukundan sparks controversy

Shane Nigam, who is currently on a promotional spree for his upcoming film ‘Little Hearts’, has landed in controversy for his remark on Unni Mukundan. The ‘Little Hearts’ actor has now taken to social media to clarify that those reacting to his remark have done so without watching the video in its entirety and that he was misinterpreted.

“It is very regrettable that people reacted to the video the other day without watching it fully. Mahi and Unni are all friends, and it is quite sad to know that people have misinterpreted it wrongly. I am here today for the sole reason that my words became a vessel for those who took advantage of the opportunity to spread religious hatred. Malayalis with conscience will reject them with contempt. This is the land of Shane Nigam, Unni Mukundan, Mammootty, Mohanlal, and Suresh Gopi," Shane Nigam said.

A snippet from a video interview from Shane Nigam and Mahima Nambiar’s recent promotion for their film had gone viral on the internet. Shane was accompanied by Mahima Nambiar and Baburaj. During the interview, Mahima was asked about her on-screen chemistry with actors Shane and Unni Mukundan. Mahima explained that her role in 'Jai Ganesh' didn't require romantic chemistry, but with Shane, they shared a chemistry built from their previous work together in 'RDX'.

The actress further stated in the interview that she is a fan of the Mahima Nambiar Unni Mukundan combo. Shane agreed with the interviewer and expressed that he too prefers the Mahi and Umfi duo. He went on to add that Umfi is the short form for Unni Mukundan Fans India.
