Shamna Kasim to play a village girl in her next

Dancer-actress Shamna Kasim aka Poorna was seen last in a cameo appearance in Mammootty-starrer Rajadhi Raja and in a modern avatar in Mili. She plays a village belle in her upcoming Tollywood movie, directed by Sivaji. Titled Sarvamangalam, the film also has Sreenivasa Reddy in a lead role.
Shamna is excited to share information about her character and says, “My character is that of a young woman working as a government employee, but the love of her life is flowers.Her ambition is to start a flower nursery. We are currently shooting in Hyderabad city, and would soon move to Vizag to shoot the later portions.” Her schedule is hectic as the crew is shooting round the clock to wrap up the movie at the earliest. Also, much-in-demand for her dancing skills, she has been busy globe-trotting with her troupe. The actress also has another untitled Telugu and Tamil movie in her kitty.
Quiz her about her M-town project and she says, “I don’t want to star in films for the sake of acting. There are offers, but I would sign the dotted line only when a project excites me enough to spare time for it,” Shamna explains.
Her latest release in Telugu was Avunu 2 directed by Ravi Babu, which hit the screens in the month of April.
