Scriptwriter T A Razzaq passes away

Noted scriptwriter T A Razzaq passed away at a private hospital in Kochi on Monday. He was 58 and was undergoing treated for liver-related ailments.

Razzaq is a multiple-time state award winning scenarist, with his popular films being Perumazhakalam, Ghazal,

Kanakinnavu

and Saaphalyam. He began his writing career in 1991 with the Mohanlal-starrer Vishnulokam and had contributed several commercial hits including Mammootty's

Vesham

and

Rapakal

Movie stars Mohanlal, Mammootty, Manoj K Jayan and directors Sibi Malayil, Shaji Kailas and Priyadarshan were among the many who paid tribute to the scenarist while his body was kept for public viewing at Kozhikode town hall early on Tuesday morning.
