Savithri Sreedharan’s next is Pada

Savithri Sreedharan, who won hearts and awards for her portrayal of a silently suffering mother in

Sudani from Nigeria

, makes her first appearance since the announcement of her National Film Awards win through

Pada

. “I play an ailing lady, suffering emotionally and mentally after the death of her son. While this is a different mother role from the one in Sudani, that was a role I cherish and remains top of my mind always,” says the actress, adding that in the film’s shoot so far she has shared a scene with Joju George, who like her, got a Special Mention at the 66th National Film Awards.

who made this debut with ID, has Kunchako Boban, Dileesh Pothen, Vinayakan and Joju playing the leads. It also features Unnimaya and Sajitha Madhathil, who portrays an assitant district magistrate. “The film is a thriller-drama based on real life events,” says a source close to the film. The film was shot in Thrissur and Kothamangalam, with only a few days of shoot left. No release date has been announced.
