It's been a few days since netizens started trolling actor
Biju Menon, for speaking in favour of
Suresh Gopi as a candidate in the upcoming
Lok Sabha
elections.
Many from the industry have been discussing the matter and the latest to speak on the incident is producer
Sandip Senan. Through his social media page, Sandip says, "Apparently, Biju's biggest 'mistake' is that when Suresh Gopi, whom he considers like a brother, came to Thrissur to contest as a Lok Sabha candidate, he shared a handful of good memories of working with the person that he is. This is what Biju is trolled for. Isn't it an attack on personal freedom?" Sandip goes on to add that Biju Menon isn't the first person in Malayalam cinema to request vote in such a platform. "Right from Prem Nazir to many directors, actors Murali, K B Ganesh Kumar, Jagadeesh, Mukesh, Innocent and more have stood for elections, won, lost and more. Many artistes have campaigned for them too," Sandip explains.
"I believe that everyone in the film industry will stand by Biju Menon. If not, I believe they have their own political interests, and there is no other reason," Sandip adds.
