Sanal Kumar Sasidharan’s movie ‘Ozhivudivasathe Kali’ turns five

Sanal Kumar Sasidharan's second feature film, ‘Ozhivudivasathe Kali’ clocked five years yesterday. The movie which has won many hearts, has also received many accolades including the Kerala State Film Award for best film. The movie is based on a short story written by Unni R. The director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan took to his social media handle on the five year anniversary of the film to express himself. Sharing a poster, he wrote, “Five years of ODK! (Ozhivudivasathe Kali 2015) #ozhivudivasathekali.”

The movie was praised for its gripping storytelling, the backdrop of politics, and making. The movie tells the story of five friends who have an off day from work due to the elections in the state. The five decide to have some fun with some games and booze. The movie was critically acclaimed and also won mentions at film festivals including IFFK and MAMI.

On the work front, Sanal Kumar Sasidharan’s recent movie was ‘Chola’, starring Joju George and Nimisha Sajayan. The movie was selected at the Venice Film Festival in the ‘Orizzonti’ (Horizons) category. Meanwhile, Sanal Kumar Sasidharan is now waiting for his next ‘Kayattam’. The movie has Manju Warrier in the lead. The makers have completed the post-production work and are waiting for the censoring process. Manju Warrier plays Maya, who is on a trip to the Himalayas with a group of strangers.
