“Shooting #Kayattam was not like shooting a movie, it was like shooting butterflies. I never felt so effortless while making another film. It was like a flow coming towards us and we just needed to be there and record it. In a way, we were prepared to admire that flow by choosing the most humble gears to capture. It was in August 2019 in the Himalayas. Two years gone and the butterfly is still sleeping inside the cocoon!” Sanal Kumar Sasidharan said in his Instagram post.

‘Kayattam’ aka ‘Ahr’ starring Manju Warrier was filmed in the Himalayan mountains. The makers even crafted a new language called ‘Ahr Samsa’ for the film. “The movie has unique content. It portrays the life of people who are strangers but travel together. So we required a special language which will help us convey the distinctive characteristics. That’s how we created Ahr Samsa,” Sanal Kumara Sasidharan earlier said, in an interview with ETimes.

The Manju Warrier starrer has been screened at many prestigious film festivals including the Busan International Film Festival, the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne among others.

On the work front, Sanal Kumar Sasidharan’s next is titled ‘

Vazhakku

’. The film has Tovino Thomas, Kani Kusruthi and Sudev Nair in lead roles.
