Sajitha Madathil will be performed at JTPac on March 5 at 7 pm. The drama is designed and directed by Chandradasan.
The story is unfolded in the backdrop of a remote village. The villagers used to present Kaali Nadakam as part of a temple ritual. Around 51 years ago, when the play was on stage, the actor who played the role of Kaali killed the actor who was acting as Darika. The incident had foreced the village to stop the ritual for more than half a century. However, they decided to present it again on stage with more festivities. Devotees took it as restoring of justice by Goddess kali, but police took the events serious and investigates it as a crime. Media celebrated it with sensational reports. However, the issue raised by Kaali was unnoticed. The play is relevant in current situations as it tries to connect with contemporary episodes.
