Saiju Kurup completes 15 years in films

It seems to be a day of milestones for actors in the Malayalam industry. While Jayasurya announced his 100th film, titled Sunny, which will start shoot tomorrow and is directed by Njan Marykutty director Ranjith Sankar, Saiju Kurup, his co-star from the Aadu franchise, marked 15 years in the industry.

, as the leading man opposite Mamta Mohandas. Saiju is currently shooting for

Meppadiyan

, starring and produced by Unni Mukundan and directed by Vishnu Mohan. The film also has Anju Kurian and Major Ravi. He also recently shot for Vipin Das’ Anthakshari with Priyanka Nair and Sudhy Kopa.

Speaking from the Meppadiyan shoot location, the actor said, “My journey in the film industry has not been easy. After my share of struggles, thanks to the industry and to God, I got good breaks and a fair amount of roles. I have known Unni for about 10 years and I am happy to be marking my 15 years on the location of his first production venture.” The message was posted on his social media.

Interestingly, while Jayasurya is touching a century, this is Saiju’s 111th film. The shoot of Meppadiyan, a thriller, is taking place at Erattupetta. The film also has Anju Kurian and Major Ravi. Saiju also recently shot for Vipin Das’

Antakshari

with Priyanka Nair and Sudhy Kopa. This is also a thriller and Saiju plays a cop in the film.

Saiju had reunited with his first co-star Mamta in Forensic, the Tovino starrer, which was released earlier this year.
