Roshan Mathew and Darshana Rajendran’s ‘Paradise’ starts streaming on OTT

‘Paradise’ featuring Roshan Mathew and Darshana Rajendran in the lead roles has started streaming on OTT after its theatrical release. The film is currently streaming on Prime Video.

The film directed by Sri Lankan filmmaker Prasanna Vithanage, revolves around an Indian tourist couple, who visit the crisis-torn Sri Lankan highlands to celebrate their 5th wedding anniversary. But when things take an unexpected turn, conflicts deepen and reveal cracks in their relationship. Roshan Mathew essays the role of Kesav, a film producer, while Darshana Rajendran plays the role of Kesav’s wife Amritha, a blogger.

As the film is streaming on OTT, Darshana took to her social media handle and said, “I’m so glad that our small film travelled all over the world with film festivals, had a big release in India and outside and is now streaming on @primevideoin. I’ve had such an amazing journey with this film and I’m so grateful that I got to play Amritha. If you couldn’t watch it at one of the festivals, or in the theatres.. you can now catch Paradise on Amazon Prime.”

Speaking about the film earlier, Darshana said, “From the first time I read the script, I thought Amritha was a very challenging and exciting character because while she has very strong opinions, we rarely see her be vocal. So we get to know her less through her interactions and conversations with the others and more through her thoughts and her time alone. I felt like that would be a great space to occupy as an actor because I had to take the audience through the deep transformation that Amritha goes through in the film, but with very little words.”

The film also has actors Mahendra Perera, Shyam Fernando, Sumith Ilango, and Isham Samsoodeen in pivotal roles.
