Malayalam singer Rimi Tomy has donated Rs 5 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support the victims of the recent landslides in Wayanad. She shared the news through her social media account, expressing deep condolences to those who lost their lives in the disaster.

Her message on Instagram read, “Condolences to the brothers who left us stay safe everyone, To all the rescue workers who are working day and night for them. Praying that there won't be a disaster like this again. May the victims be able to survive this as soon as possible .”

Joining her in these efforts, actor Mohanlal, on the last day, visited the landslide-affected Meppadi as an honorary Lieutenant Colonel of the Territorial Army. Mohanlal announced that the Viswasanthi Foundation, founded by him, would pledge Rs 3 crore for immediate relief and rebuilding efforts. The actor, while speaking to the media, also said that additional funds will be availed as per the requirements.

Other prominent figures in the Malayalam film industry have also shown their support include Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan, who have together, contributed Rs 35 lakh, while Tovino Thomas and Fahadh Faasil have donated Rs 25 lakh each. Actress Manju Warrier has pledged Rs 5 lakh, and Navya Nair has contributed Rs 1 lakh.
