Actor-filmmaker Revathy Asha has expressed grief on the passing away of Veteran Malayalam actor Mamukkoya. Mamukkoya died in Kozhikode on Wednesday (Apr 26), aged 77. The veteran was hospitalized, after suffering a cardiac arrest while attending the inauguration of a local football tournament in Malappuram district on Monday.
In a robust career spanned four decades, Mamukkoya acted in over 400 films, and his talent on handling comedian roles were widely popular. Mamukkoya’s demise has left the Malayalam movie industry devastated, especially, while the film fraternity were still recovering from the loss of actor Innocent.
Actress Revathy, who has worked with Mamukkoya in several films recalled the memorable moments and mourned the demise of her co-star. In a note shared on social media, Revathy Asha said that she has always admired Mamukkoya, both as an actor and a person.
“#Mamukkoya… have always admired him as an actor and person. Very well read, when in a role he is constantly thinking of how to make it better. Worked with him in very few films, the last being #mollyauntyrocks . Enjoyed every shot we did, every input he gave, memories that will always remain with me. May his soul rest in peace 🙏🏾,” she penned.

Meanwhile, Mamukkoya is survived by wife Suhara and children Nizar, Shahida, Nadiya and Abdul Rasheed.
