Remya Nambeesan takes up the cause of women's safety
Actress Remya Nambeesan recently took time out from her busy schedule for a social cause. She expressed her views strongly with regard to women’s safety at an event held in the city.
Sharing her thoughts about rising incidence of violence against women, she said, “Whenever a rape happens, people raise their voice and many debates take place. It is mostly the educated class who watch all these sessions.

We tend to forget about the lower strata of society who do not have any access to the media. People living in the rural areas are cut off from all this. During my shoots, I have come across many such people. So it is necessary to educate them first.”
She also said that men should be educated to treat women equally. “Parents must make their kids aware that a girl is also a human being and not a mere sex object. At least the next generation should be able to respect women and that’s a request I want to make to all parents,” says Remya, who was part of the pilot project launch of Nirbhaya Keralam Surakshita Keralam held in Kochi.
Meanwhile, the actress is currently gearing up for her debut project in Kannada and she will be simultaneously working for a Tamil project too.
