Rekha Harris reminisces working for ‘Dasharatham’

Dasharatham

’, a 1989 Malayalam film. The actor who has worked in most of the South film industries has some incredible movies to her credit in Malayalam and ‘Dasharatham’ is one of them.

The film was directed by Sibi Malayil and scripted by AK Lohithadas and it featured Mohanlal, Rekha, Murali, in the lead roles. Rekha played the role of Annie, a surrogate mother, who couldn’t emotionally detach from her child.

Rekha Harris has taken to her social media handle and recalled the memories of working with the incredible team.

“I'm feeling blessed
️ The climax scene from the superhit movie Dasaradham written by A. K. Lohithadas Sir, directed by Sibi Malayil Sir, and cinematography by Sri. Venu Sir in which my character Annie could grab that year's film critics award for best actress in Malayalam industry,” Rekha said.

The actress also added that the movie was ahead of its time and it was a blessing to work with the legends.

“Such a beautiful story that walked beyond time... The conflict a surrogate mother, who developed emotional attachment to the life in her womb, had to go through when it was time to leave her baby with his biological father. For me the movie was a real blessing to work with such a legendary director and writer and the actors @Mohanlal sir, Nedumudi Venu chettan, Kaviyoor Ponnamma amma, K. P. A. C. Lalitha amma, Jayabharathi amma and the versatile actors Murali sir and Sukumari amma, Sukumaran sir and Karamana Janardanan Nair sir who aren't with us now. My humble pranams to them
,” she added.

Rekha, who made her acting debut in Mollywood with the super hit film ‘Ramji Rao Speaking’ has been part of several blockbuster films including ‘Aey Auto’, ‘In Harihar Nagar’ and ‘Lal Salam’ among others.
