Ranjith Sankar’s ‘4 years’ starts rolling
Filmmaker Ranjith Sankar’s next titled ‘4 years’ have gone on floors today (Aug 20). Touted to be a love story, the film has started rolling, and Ranjith Sankar took to his social media handle to announce the same.
Check out the post here.
‘4 year’ is a ‘pure love story’ according to the filmmaker, however, he hasn’t divulged anything about the lead cast of the film.
Speaking to Kochi Times earlier, Ranjith Sankar said, “I have nursed the idea of making a film that is based at the college for about seven years now. I had written a few scripts, but I felt they fell short. I want something that is special and clicks, because Kothamangalam made me what I am today. Being away from home in Thrissur for the first time, I had my first experience of being independent and was able to broaden my horizons. I want to pay tribute to the place through this work. This is a simple story that will be reflective of current times, so the love is demonstrated in a way that is different from even before Covid. It is more intense and more physical. I am making it for an audience of 18 to 30-year-olds. I don’t know if those in the older age bracket would be able to digest this; in fact, it could be a bit controversial by Kerala standards. But that is the reality. There are barely any love stories made nowadays, so I think if it is well made, it will have an audience. That is what is driving me. This is also a musical, with seven beautiful songs composed by Sankar Sharma.”
