Kochi Metro is having a celebratory time, now that June 17th marks its first anniversary. It was aptly celebrated by director
Ranjith Sankar and
Jayasurya, along with the transpersons working with the metro.
Interestingly, their latest film Njan Marykutty is also one on the lives of transpersons, and Ranjith Sankar talked to Kochi Times about his third metro ride today. He said, “To be travelling with them and listening to their experiences on the first anniversary is a thing of great joy.
Also, our film is based on the transgender community. The fact that they are brought into the mainstream through such means is quite refreshing. Changes like these should come often in their lives.”
He adds, “We have tried to recreate at least a few of the experiences they have gone through, in our film. That said, the film would entertain all.”
