Rajeev Ravi will not helm Kammatti Paadam Hindi remake

Since the release of Dulquer Salmaan's latest movie, news has been doing the rounds that the movie will be remade into Hindi and Telugu with actors Arjun Kapoor and Akhil Akkineni are being considered for the lead roles, respectively.

Confirming it, a source close to the production unit tells us, 'We have been approached by two different production houses from Mumbai and Hyderabad. They are impressed with the story and are keen on casting Arjun and Akhil for Dulquer's part.'

Rumours are also rife that its filmmaker Rajeev Ravi, who had cranked the camera for Bollywood movies such as Dev. D, Gangs of Wasseypur and the upcoming Udta Punjab, will be helming the Hindi remake as well. However, when we contacted the National Award-winning cinematographer, he said, 'I will not be directing the remake.'

The film tells the tale of a ghetto Kammatti Paadam that paved way for Kochi as a metro city. Scripted by P Balachandran, the movie has Vinayakan, Vinay Forrt and Shine Tom Chacko playing the other important roles.
