Prithviraj Sukumaran has opened up about the immense challenges of making ‘L2: Empuraan,’ revealing that he initially doubted whether the ambitious sequel would ever materialize.

'L2 Empuraan' Movie Review & Release Live update“I thought this was not going to get made.” In an interview with Hindustan Times, the actor-director admitted, “Halfway through writing the script for this, I thought this was not going to get made.”
Given the massive scale of L2: Empuraan, Prithviraj felt that no Malayalam film had ever attempted such grandeur. Lucifer was the costliest film in Mollywood at the time, and its sequel naturally had to be even bigger. However, the scale was so overwhelming that even he struggled to rein it in.

Prithviraj also clarified that the film wasn’t made just because Lucifer was a blockbuster. From the very beginning, he had envisioned the Lucifer saga as a three-part story. However, the first film’s massive success gave them the confidence to push forward with L2: Empuraan on an unprecedented scale.
