Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s highly anticipated movie 'L2: Empuraan' is generating immense buzz in the Mollywood industry. The recently unveiled teaser offers a fresh visual experience, promising to set a new wave in Mollywood.
In a recent interview, the film’s director, Prithviraj Sukumaran, revealed his wish to feature Shah Rukh Khan in the Hindi remake of the fist part 'Lucifer'.
'L2: Empuraan' is a much-awaited sequel to the 2019 hit film 'Lucifer'. While 'Lucifer' did not make a significant impact beyond the South, the upcoming sequel is expected to have a wider reach. In a conversation with Filmibeat, Prithviraj was asked about potential casting choices for a Bollywood remake of Lucifer. He revealed that his personal pick for the protagonist would be Shah Rukh Khan, expressing his desire for Shah Rukh to play the role originally portrayed by Mohanlal in the Malayalam version. At the same time, he shared that his favourite Bollywood star is Amitabh Bachchan.
'Lucifer' was previously remade in Telugu as 'Godfather', featuring Chiranjeevi.
According to Prithviraj, 'L2: Empuraan' will not alienate the Hindi-speaking audience, as approximately 20-25 minutes of the film’s initial segments will feature Hindi dialogues. This will be consistent across all versions of the film, which is set to release on March 27. It is expected to compete with Salman Khan’s 'Sikandar' at the Bollywood box office.
'L2: Empuraan' is slated for a simultaneous release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
The film features Mohanlal as Khureshi-Ab'raam / Stephen Nedumpally, alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran, Indrajith Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Saniya Iyappan, Saikumar, Baiju Santhosh, Fazil, and Sachin Khedekar, all reprising their roles from the first instalment.
