Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer ‘Theerppu’ gets an OTT release date

Prithviraj Sukumaran teamed up with the ‘Kammara Sambhavam’ director Rathish Ambat for the limited setting thriller film ‘Theerppu’ and according to the latest reports, the film is heading towards its OTT release which is reportedly scheduled for September 30th on a popular OTT platform.

Although the makers have not yet confirmed the matter, reportedly ‘Theerppu’ will start streaming on September 30th on OTT.The film hit the big screens on August 25 and received mostly mixed responses from the audience.

As the initial responses for ‘Theerppu’ said that the film would work well as an OTT product, it can be expected that ‘Theerppu’ will find its liking after its OTT streaming.
‘Theerppu’ was the sophomore directorial venture of Rathish Ambat and the expectations were high as his debut directorial venture ‘Kammara Sambhavam’ got a cult following after its digital streaming, although the film reportedly failed at the box office. The script of ‘Theerppu’ was penned down by Murali Gopy who also played a pivotal character in the Prithviraj starrer. Sunil KS handled the cinematography of the movie and the editing section by Deepu Joseph. Gopi Sundar composed the music in ‘Theerppu’.
‘Theerppu’ told the story of a group of four friends who meet up after a long time and the story progresses as a series of twisted events takes place under the roof. The film can be termed as a ‘locked room thriller’.
Apart from Prithviraj Sukumaran, ‘Theerppu’ also had the actors Indrajith Sukumaran, Isha Talwar Saiju Kurup, Vijay Babu, Siddique, Mammukoya, and Hannah Reji Koshy in pivotal roles.
