As the highly anticipated release of his film ‘Aadujeevitham’ approaches, Prithviraj Sukumaran, the prolific actor of Mollywood, sheds light on an intriguing encounter with the team behind the Hollywood epic sci-fi film ‘Dune.’
Amidst the fervent promotions for his upcoming project, Prithviraj disclosed, during the promotional event, a captivating moment during the shoot for ‘Aadujeevitham.’
Speaking about the striking similarities in visual aesthetics between ‘Aadujeevitham’ and ‘Dune,’ Prithviraj disclosed, "I have seen people say that ‘Aadujeevitham’ looks like ‘Dune,’ especially the visual palette. You won’t believe it when we were shooting ‘Aadujeevitham’ in Wadi Rum. We met the cinematographer and the VFX supervisor of ‘Dune,’ because they were there scouting for locations in Wadi Rum to set up their shoot. So we shot much before that."
Meanwhile, the Hollywood epic ‘Dune’ and its sequel had scenes that were shot in Wadi Rum, in southern Jordan. The red-sand landscapes of Wadi Rum have indeed been featured in several other Hollywood epics, such as ‘The Martian’, ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’, and many others.
On the other hand, Prithviraj, during the promotional event, also revealed that they had plans to rope in the popular Hollywood music composer Hans Zimmer (‘Inception’, ‘Interstellar’, ‘Dune’, ‘Gladiator’) for ‘Aadujeevitham’.
