Prithviraj seems to be going the whole nine yards for his upcoming movie Vimaanam. The actor had earlier told us that he learnt flight instrumentation to play the part of a mechanic, who aspires to build an ultra-light
aircraft
on his own. And now, the movie’s director
Pradeep M Nair says that he has also knocked off quite a few pounds to portray the younger version of his character.
“Prithviraj also appears as a 22-year-old in the movie and so, he had to look lean. He has lost around 10 kilos over the past two months,” says the director. The team had earlier shot the older portions of Prithviraj’s character, including the flying sequences for the film, in Mangalore, in March.
“We have a couple more scenes with aircraft to be filmed that will be done in a flying yard in Thoothukudi,” says Pradeep, adding that the team will leave for Tamil Nadu for a few weeks of shoot in Kochi and Trivandrum.
Vimanam
is partly inspired from the life of hearing and speech-impaired Saji M Thomas, who had built an ultra-aircraft on his own. Saji will also be seen in a cameo in the movie.
